Veddas
Veddas are indigenous people of Sri Lanka. These tribes, lost in the forests of the island, still lead a primitive lifestyle.
Veddas are hunter-gatherers. They use bows and arrows to hunt game, and also gather wild plants and honey. Many Veddas also farm, frequently using slash and burn or swidden cultivation, which is called “chena” in Sri Lanka.
