Waterfalls, mountains, endless tea plantations and truly British architecture – this is Nuwara Eliya, or “City of Light”.

This resort is located at the foot of the highest mountain in Sri Lanka – Pidurutalagala, at an altitude of 1884 meters above sea level. It was built in the 18th century by the British to enjoy the mild climate and picturesque scenery. Gabled roofs, the English church, the clock tower is converting Lankan city into the “Little England.”

Modern Elia is rich for luxury hotels, golf, race course, and discotheques. The park “Victoria” is in the center of the town . Lake Gregory is in the South.
